We started 2017 off with a fantastic journey to the Torres del Paine area of Patagonia. The best time to visit Patagonia is late November through April. During holiday season the parks get quite busy. Torres del Paine, the southernmost park in Patagonia, is one of the most scenic of all the parks. Torres offers beautiful hiking trails, turquoise blue glacial lakes, towering peaks and abundant wildlife. In January we based out of the stunning Tierra Patagonia Hotel. From here we roamed 11 dreamy days hiking, biking and horseback riding, wildlife watching and taking hundreds of photos. The night sky and the Southern Cross are a must for all photography lovers!
Mountain Spirits has been running trips throughout Patagonia for more than 15 years. Patagonia is a great place for those who want lodge based hiking, terrific food and amazing scenery. Patagonia is also a great family trip with all the different activities possible. There is hiking, fishing, sea kayaking, rafting, horseback riding and glacier walking to name a few. For the intrepid, there is endless opportunity to get off the beaten path. Most folks visit only one or two areas but Patagonia encompasses OVER 400,000 square miles! If you love mountains and wild country, Patagonia should be at the top of of your list!
