“Hard to say in a few words what Mountain Spirits means to me and why I spend 11 months anticipating the next adventure with you!! Kind of crazy! 1998 was to be my one and only “once-in-a-lifetime dream trip” come true! It was amazing and life-changing and I was sure it couldn’t get any better!! Now, 16 years and 15 trips later, I feel the same after every trip and can’t believe I’m still living the dream! 🙂

So why do I travel with Mountain Spirits? Because I am sure there isn’t anyone else who does it as well! You know how to make a trip a journey! I appreciate the amazing job you do connecting with the mountains, the people, and the culture so that at the end of the trip I leave behind friends, not just trekking staff; I experience the mountains, not just photograph them; and I feel the heart of the Himalaya in every step I take and every person we meet. You are respectful of individuals as well as their culture and it has taught me to “be there” not just visit. Your trips are always unique – with the best routes, and the best campsites….other trekkers must be envious of us! The staff is great; FUN, honest, dependable, trustworthy, and kind! Mountain Spirits makes me feel safe. I know you are always doing what is safest for the group whether it’s the water treatment, route, pace for the day, first aid, adapting to weather conditions, or negotiating the streets of Kathmandu in search of dinner. I know I will always have the most fun ever possible (even when I’m freezing and going back UP the same 1000 feet we just went down). You support environmentally aware and culturally sensitive travel. You treat your staff respectfully and fairly and you lead by example.

You make popcorn every night! And most of all because I love you two and I am grateful for your presence in my life!”
