THAILAND

Thailand, the Land of Smiles, is one of our favorite destinations and a fabulous family holiday. Dazzling beaches, warm turquoise waters, rainforests of untouched splendor, wildlife, fabulous food and culture…Thailand has it all. Our journeys explore limestone karst mountains and the islands of southern Thailand. Our favorite destination is the Railay Peninsula, most famous for its amazing rock climbing, hiking, caving, sea kayaking, and snorkeling.

In Railay, you can take a Thai cooking class, learn to do Batik, or take a Thai Boxing class from a pro! Railay Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches on earth.

Another favorite of ours is the island of Ko Yao Noi. Ko Yoa Noi is in the Andaman Sea east of Phuket and remains relatively untouched by tourism. Ko Yao Noi has great rock climbing, amazing snorkeling, and sea kayaking. The island is full of trails for hiking and running with one paved road (great road biking) and plenty of dirt roads and trails for mountain biking. The culture and food and relaxed pace of Ko Yao Noi make this Andaman jewel a must-see.

For those of you looking for an Eco Tourism trip we travel to Kuraburi. Kuraburi is located north of the island of Phuket on the Andaman coast near Myanmar. In Kuraburi we are able to combine educational opportunities for adults and kids along with adventure. We visit local schools and learn about their environmental awareness programs including the deforestation of the essential mangroves in the area. We donate time to a philanthropic project of our choice through the non-profit organization Andaman Discoveries (originally founded as a tsunami relief organization following the 2004 tsunami). We learn about the ecosystems, local wildlife, and even the Buddhist religion. As a highlight, we can do a 3-day “homestay” and live and eat with local families. Kuraburi is an incredible place to experience real Thailand!
